How to play
- Choose the number of cards: 12, 16 or 24. Sixteen is a good start.
- Turn one card, then another. If they share a rank (for example two aces), they stay face up.
- If they differ, they turn back after a moment; tapping the next card turns them back at once. Clear all pairs to finish.
Concentration, also called Memory or Pairs, is a classic card game played around the world. As with a real deck, each pair here is two cards of the same rank in different suits (♠♥♦♣). Your time runs from the first card you turn until every pair is found.

- Number of cards: More cards mean more positions to remember. Personal bests and statistics are kept per size.
- Luck of the deal: Lucky early matches can make a big difference.
- How you memorize: Grouping turned cards by row or column makes them easier to recall.
- Pace: Tapping the next card right away turns a mismatch back instantly, keeping your rhythm.
Tips for a faster clear
- Turn unseen cards first and build up your map of the board.
- When a card’s rank is one you have seen, turn its partner straight away.
- Put positions into words, like “ace top left, seven bottom right”.
- Get comfortable with 12 cards before trying 16 or 24.

Can I play alone?
Yes. This page is for one player and records your time and turns. Taking turns with family or friends and comparing results is fun too.
What is an average time?
With 16 cards, around 55–85 seconds is a common figure. This page treats that range as “typical”. Practiced players can clear it in the 30s.
Which cards match?
Cards of the same rank (A, 2–10, J, Q, K) match, even if their suits differ.
Can children play?
Yes. The rules are simple, so young children can enjoy it too. There is also an easier picture-matching game for kids.
Is my result sent anywhere?
When you clear the board, the score calculated from your time, the time itself, the number of cards, your device type (computer, phone or tablet) and the page language are sent. Games longer than five minutes are not sent. No name or email is collected, and IP addresses are not stored with scores. Your personal best is stored only in this browser.
